Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: Advanced chronic kidney disease often presents with hypertension, especially after stage 3 of the disease. In contrast, hypertension is common in all forms of congenital or acquired nephropathy, causing kidney damage and accelerating the decline in renal function in patients. Objectives: 1. Determine the rate and extent of hypertension in patients with chronic kidney diseases; 2. Investigate some factors related to hypertension in patients with chronic kidney disease. Materials and methods: Prospective study on 192 chronic kidney disease patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease according to the guidelines of the Council of Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcome - KDIGO (2012). Diagnosis and treatment of hypertension with drugs for chronic kidney disease according to Vietnam National Heart Association 2018. Results: The rate of hypertension in patients with chronic kidney disease was 93.2%. In which, hypertension level I accounted for 44.1%, level II made up 34.1% and grade III composed 21.8%. The association between age ≥60 years, sex, chronic kidney disease stage, obesity, ACR and hypertension rate in chronic kidney disease patients has not been recorded. Conclusions: The prevalence of hypertension in patients with chronic kidney disease accounted for the majority. Extent of hypertension in patients with chronic kidney disease is mostly mild. The association between age ≥60 years, sex, chronic kidney disease stage, obesity, ACR and hypertension rate in chronic kidney disease patients have not been recorded.
