ASSESSMENT OF QUALITY OF LIFE AND SOME RELATED FACTORS IN CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE PATIENTS WITH REGULAR HEMODIALYSIS AT CAN THO CITY GENERAL HOSPITAL

Abstract
Background: Chronic kidney failure seriously affects the health, the longevity, and the quality of patients‘ life. It is becoming a global medical burden. Objectives: 1). To survey the quality of life of end-stage chronic kidney failure patients undergoing regular dialysis according to the KDQOL-36 scale. 2). To find some factors related to the quality of life of end-stage chronic kidney failure patients undergoing regular dialysis. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 336 patients with end-stage chronic kidney failure undergoing regular dialysis at Can Tho City General Hospital in 2023. Results: The average scores of physical health, mental health and disease burden were average: 34.87 ± 19.61; 45.28 ± 16.22; 29.71 ± 22.65 points, symptoms points and effects of the disease were at a fair level (74.25 ± 18.39; 58.03 ± 21.66). There was a relationship between quality of life and dialysis time (p<0.001), edema level (p<0.001), hypertension (p<0.001). Conclusions: The quality of life score of patients with end-stage chronic kidney failure on regular dialysis is average-good, patients with a lot of edema have prolonged dialysis time and have high blood pressure related to the worse quality of life.
