Đặt vấn đề: Đau sau đột quỵ là một biến chứng phổ biến nhưng thường bị bỏ qua, ảnh hưởng đáng kể đến chất lượng cuộc sống. Tỉ lệ ước tính của đau sau đột quỵ và đau trung ương sau đột quỵ đa dạng, khác nhau giữa các nghiên cứu. Mục tiêu nghiên cứu: Xác định tỉ lệ của đau mới khởi phát và mô tả đặc điểm lâm sàng của đau trung ương trong tuần đầu sau đột quỵ. Đối tượng và phương pháp nghiên cứu: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang 251 bệnh nhân đột quỵ lần đầu nhập viện tại khoa Nội thần kinh, Bệnh viện Đa khoa Trung ương Cần Thơ từ 2/2019 đến 6/2019. Kết quả: 36,7% bệnh nhân (92/251) ghi nhận có đau mới khởi phát trong 7 ngày đầu sau đột quỵ, đau đầu 31,5%, đau vai 4,4%, đau khớp khác 4,4%, đau trung ương sau đột quỵ 3,6%. Nhiều hơn một loại đau gặp ở 6% bệnh nhân. Đặc điểm đau trung ương sau đột quỵ phần lớn là tê (88.9%) và kiến bò (77.7%); cường độ đau trung bình là 77,8%. Kết luận: Đau sau đột quỵ thì khá phổ biến, gặp ở hơn 1/3 bệnh nhân đột quỵ.trong giai đoạn cấp, trong đó đau trung ương chiếm tỉ lệ thấp.
