CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS OF ROSACEA AT CAN THO HOSPITAL OF DERMATO-VENEREOLOGY IN 2025

Abstract
Background: Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin disease of the face with diverse manifestations, significantly affecting appearance and quality of life, it can be triggered or exacerbated by various factors, while its pathogenesis remains unclear and no specific treatment is currently available. Objectives: To describe the clinical characteristics and associated factors of rosacea at Can Tho Hospital of Dermato-Venereology in 2025. Materials and methods: A crosssectional case series study of patients diagnosed with rosacea between May 2025 and October 2025. Results: This study included 30 patients, ranging in age from 23 to 62 years, with a mean age of 32.03, and a female predominance (60%). The most common clinical subtype was erythematotelangiectatic rosacea (50%), followed by papulopustular (40%) and phymatous (10%), with no ocular cases observed. Lesions were mainly located on the cheeks (86.7%), accompanied by persistent erythema (73.3%) and a burning sensation (56.7%). The mean disease duration was 21 months. Common aggravating factors included hot and humid environments, sun exposure, and topical cosmetics. Conclusions: Rosacea is more common in adult women, predominantly presenting as the erythematotelangiectatic subtype with cheek involvement, characterized by a chronic course and may be influenced by triggering factors such as hot and humid environments, sun exposure, and topical cosmetics.
