CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN THE RF-CL MODEL AND CORONARY ARTERY LESIONS IN PATIENTS WITH SUSPECTED CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: According to the 2024 European Society of Cardiology guidelines, the Risk Factor-weighted Clinical Likelihood (RF-CL) model facilitates the personalized diagnosis of coronary artery disease by integrating classic cardiovascular risk factors. However, in Vietnam, data correlating this model with actual anatomical coronary lesions on imaging remain limited. Therefore, it is imperative to investigate this correlation to optimize the indications for coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA), thereby contributing to the improvement of clinical diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy. Objectives: To describe the clinical characteristics and evaluate the association between the RF-CL model and coronary artery lesions on CCTA in patients with suspected coronary artery disease. Materials and methods: A descriptive study was conducted on 106 patients presenting with chest pain, dyspnea, or shortness of breath on exertion at Can Tho Stroke and Cardiovascular Hospital from August 2025 to December 2025. Results: The gender distribution was relatively balanced between males (49%) and females (51%), with a mean age of 65.6 ± 11.6 years. Chest pain was the most common symptom, accounting for 76.42%. The RF-CL value (%) was significantly higher in the coronary artery stenosis group compared to the nonstenosis group (p<0.05). The analysis of the RF-CL model components showed that dyslipidemia, age (≥60 years), hypertension, and male sex were factors significantly associated with coronary artery stenosis (p<0.05). Conclusion: The RF-CL model is associated with the likelihood of coronary artery stenosis on CCTA in patients with suspected coronary artery disease.
