CURRENT STATUS OF USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN LEARNING OF PREVENTIVE MEDICINE STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY - THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY

Abstract
Background: The use of AI in learning is increasingly prevalent. Students majoring in preventive medicine - a field that requires extensive knowledge of medicine and needs to be constantly updated on public health risks–benefit from the application of AI in updating knowledge, supporting research, and developing professional skills. Objective: To describe the current status of artificial intelligence use in learning of students majoring in Preventive Medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Thai Nguyen University. Materials and methods: Crosssectional descriptive study was conducted on 270 students majoring in Preventive Medicine, Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy from January 2025 to August 2025. Results: A total of 96.7% of students reported having accessed and used artificial intelligence tools, predominantly ChatGPT (91.1%), mainly to support data analysis (47.1%). Additionally, the demand for formal training in the use of this technology was very high (86.3%). Conclusion: Therefore, in order to meet the requirements of educational innovation, priority should be given to the development of AI skills training programs tailored to the specific characteristics of preventive medicine.
