SURVEY RECENT INFECTIONS INCIDENCE AMONG INDIVIDUALS WITH A NEW HIV DIAGNOSIS AT CAN THO CITY – CENTER FOR DESEASE CONTROL IN 2023

Abstract
Background: Recent tests can distinguish recent in the prior 12 months from long-term HIV infection through integrating serological tests with viral load. Objectives: To determine the incidence of HIV among HIV patients with a new HIV diagnosis at Can Tho city - Center for desease Control in 2023. Materials and methods: Descriptive method through cross-sectional survey HIV patients ≥ 16 years old with a new HIV diagnosis. Results: The study showed that 18.8% of participants recency HIV of which 11.8% were living and working in Can Tho. Factors independently associated with HIV recency was student (OR = 3.29). Conclusions: The rate ofHIV recency is high. Factors independently associated with HIV recency isstudent.
