PSYCHOLOGICAL DIFFICULTIES IN LEARNING AND SOME RELATED FACTORS IN NURSING STUDENTS AT CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY IN 2023

Abstract

Background: According to the results of many studies around the world, the majority of nursing students have psychological difficulties in studying activities. These difficulties have both positive and negative effects on students’ learning activities. Objective: To survey of psychological difficulties in learning in nursing students at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2023 and its related factors. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study design was conducted on 149 second-year, third-year and fourth-year nursing students of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2023 who participated in clinical practice at the hospital. Results: 69.8% of nursing students had  psychological difficulties in learning at an average level with an average score of 1.8859±0.539. Gender was related with the average score of psychological problems in learning (t=-2,424, p=0,041). Conclusion: Most nursing students have psychological difficulties in learning. It is necessary to continue paying attention to strengthening psychological counseling activities for students.
