THE MANAGEMENT SITUATION OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ACTIVITIES OF OFFICERS AT CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY

Abstract
Background: Scientific research is one of the universities' most important and frequently conducted activities. Managing scientific research activities helps to improve and ensure the effectiveness of scientific research activities. Objectives: To survey the current management status of scientific research activities among Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy officers. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 204 officers of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2022-2023. The data were collected through a survey form and statistically processed by SPSS 22.0 software. Results: The average age of the study subjects was quite young at 38.3±8.7, mainly at the postgraduate level (75.9%). Regarding the management of scientific research activities, most of the formulation of scientific research plans is relatively effective and the development of scientific research plans is regularly carried out (>50%). In addition, for the level of implementation of scientific research planning, annual scientific research planning and scientific research training planning accounted for the highest percentages (43.6% and 39.7%, respectively). Conclusion: The current scientific research situation of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy officers should be promoted and solutions developed to make scientific research management more effective.
