CLINICAL AND SUBCLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PROLONGED PREGNANCY, RESULT OF FOLEY TRANSCERVICAL CATHETER FOR LABOR INDUCTION AND OUTCOME

Abstract
Background: Labor induction in prolonged pregnancy is necessary. There were many methods to labor induction that were applied. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. Objectives: Describe clinical characteristics, subclinical, resulting induction Foley catheter placed in the cervical canal than amniotic separation methods and pregnancy outcomes in pregnant than the planned date of birth is labor induction. Materials and methods: The study randomized clinical trials are warranted. Pregnant women living > 40 weeks of age, single pregnancy, cephalic, Bishop scores <5, Non-stresstest have met. Pregnant women agreed to participate in the study. Results: uterine height <32 cm was 76.3%; amniotic fluid index from 8 to 19 cm was highest (86.2%); The basic fetal heart was mainly 120 - 140 beats / minute (52.6%). The success rate of the method was put through Foley 82.9% and the method for separating membranes was 65.8%, p = 0.025. The time from induction to delivery of the group usually was 13.01 ± 8.1 Foley set hours, the group was 19.79 ± 9.9 cups of amniotic hours, p = 0.001. Conclusion: The induction of labor with a Foley catheter placed cervical canal induction of labor at term pregnancy projected result being higher success amniotic working methods. No complications.
