Abstract

Background: Acnes vulgaris is the most common skin disease in the clinical practice of dermatologists, accounting for 80-85% in adults and greatly affecting the psychology and quality of life of patients. The choice of drug therapy is a very important issue for the effectiveness of treatment. Objectives: To determine the irrational use of acnes vulgaris and some related factors. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was performed on 292 acnes vulgaris patients treated as outpatients at Can Tho Dermato-Venereology Hospital. Results: The rate of using antibiotic group accounted for the highest rate of 58.2%, at least 5.3% of hormone group. The rate of inappropriate prescribing in terms of indications, doses, times of administration, time of drug use and contraindications accounted for 19.5% and reasonable accounted for 80.5%. There is a statistically significant difference between the professional qualifications and working time of the prescribing doctor and the prescription of common acne medications that are not reasonable with p < 0.05. Conclusions: Acnes vulgaris is a very common disease that significantly reduces the quality of life of patients. The use of drugs in the treatment of acnes vulgaris safely, effectively, and economically is one of the things that pharmacists, doctors as well as patients are interested in.
