Abstract

Background: Tooth loss affects not only the chewing function, but also the ability of the patient to pronounce or even affect the aesthetics. Fixed dental bridge is one of the dominant treatments for tooth loss today due to ensuring the restoration of chewing and aesthetic function with reasonable cost and less time. Objectives: Assessing the restoration of dental bridge and surveying the patient's satisfaction after losing dental treatment by fixed dental bridge prosthesis. Materials and methods: Clinical intervention study of 38 patients with edentulous posterior teeth who were indicated to fixed porcelain bridge at the Can Tho University Hospital from 2018 to 2019. Results: According to aesthetic standards, prostheses rated R to 18.4%, the rest prosthetics are rated S. According to the anatomical standard, prostheses rated R to 23.7%, the S grade to 71.1%. According to the finished line standards, the R-rank prosthetics to 21.1%, the rest of the Srank restorations accounted for 78.9%. Evaluation of prostheses according to CDA standards (California Dental Association), the prostheses were evaluated as good, acceptable to 94.7%. The temporary prosthetic stage was 34.2% of the patients had no pain, 63.2% of the patients had mild pain, 2.6% of patients had moderate pain. During the period of permanent prosthesis, the patient had a slight pain of 76.3%. In the period after permanent prothesis, 94,7% of patients had no pain, 5.3% had mild transient pain. Assessment of patients, the rate of patients with aesthetic satisfaction to 100%, the percentage of patients with functional satisfaction to 94.7%. According to CDA standards, the prosthesis is perfectly evaluated as 10,5% and acceptable prosthesis to 84.2%, repaired to 5.3%. Conclusion: Fixed dental bridge are one of the treatments for tooth loss with a high success rate both functional and aesthetic.
