ACCEPTANCE INFLUENZA VACCINATION AND SOME RELEVANT FACTORS OF HEALTHCARE WORKERS AT CAN THO CITY IN 2020

Abstract

Background: Influenza vaccination is considered the most effective preventive method to reduce the risk of infection and death from influenza virus for healthcare workers. Objectives: To identify the acceptance rate of influenza vaccination and find out some relevant factors of healthcare workers at Can Tho city in 2020. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study on 706 healthcare workers in 14 health centers at Can Tho city in 2020. Results: The acceptance rate of influenza vaccination of healthcare workers at Can Tho city in 2020 was 81.7%. Results showed the association between acceptance of influenza vaccination among healthcare workers with annual influenza vaccination (p= 0.002; OR=3.882), getting the information about influenza vaccine before (p=0.006; OR=1.871) and perceiving the dangers of flu (p<0.001; OR=3.354). Conclusion: The acceptance rate of influenza vaccination of healthcare workers at Can Tho city in 2020 was high level. Mandatory vaccination policies and health education campaigns are implemented measures to achieve annual high vaccination coverage among this group.
