ASSESSMENT OF TREATMENT QUALITY OF MAXILLARY ANTERIOR TEETH RESTORED WITH ZIRCONIA CROWNS

Abstract

Background: The aesthetic of the smile depends on gingival health, the position of the lips and teeth, and especially the appearance of the teeth. Caries, traumatized or deformed maxillary anterior teeth are usually indicated for treatment with ceramic restorations, the befitting type of restoration is Zirconia porcelain crowns. Objectives: To assess the treatment quality of the upper anterior teeth with Zirconia porcelain crowns on patients at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in 2020-2021. Materials and methods: Uncontrolled clinical interventional study on 63 patients with 83 Zirconia crowns at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from June 2020 to June 2021. Results: 04 crowns were average in aesthetics account for 4.8%, 08 teeth experienced sensitivity to account for 9.6%, and 85.5% achieved fair results after fixation. After 06 months, all of the crowns maintained the original color, 02 teeth were minor chipped account for 2.4%, and 92.8% achieved excellence. Conclusion: The Zirconia crowns are aesthetic and suitable for treating damaged, discolored, and malformed upper anterior teeth.
