PRESCRIBING OF PROTON PUMP INHIBITORS FOR OUTPATIENT AT THE MEDICAL CENTER OF CHO GAO DISTRICT IN 2020

Abstract
Background: The proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are widely prescribed in acid secretionrelated diseases. The Medical Center of Cho Gao district has both performed preventive and treatment functions. In recent times, the proton pump inhibitors have been prescribed increased. Objectives: determine the rate of receiving unsafe and irrational prescriptions of PPIs for outpatients, who are treating in the Clinical Department in the Medical Center of Cho Gao district and determining the factors related to the situation in 2020. Materials and methods: Crosssectional study on 346 prescriptions of PPIs for outpatients who are treating in the Clinical Department in Medical Center of Cho Gao district from May to August 2020, Apply the Medical Record to collect data. Use SPSS version 22 to analyze data. Results: In the total of 346 samples, there were 10.7% prescriptions determine as unsafe PPIs prescription (cause of interaction) and 19.9% is rate PPIs' prescription of irrational (cause of dose). The related factor which increased PPIs' unsafe prescription is Internal Clinical. The degree of the doctor was identified as related to both unsafe and irrational PPIs' prescription. Conclusion: The unsafe and irrational PPIs' prescriptions were quite high (10.7% and 19.9%, respectively). The degree of doctor should be attention for the intervention of Clinical pharmacy, especially doctor of Internal Clinic and outpatient.
