Abstract

Background: Providing health care services, making patients satisfied is a prerequisite for the existence and development of a medical facility in general and a hospital in particular. Along with other quality improvement measures, understanding patient satisfaction is an important factor for healthcare facilities to monitor quality of care and attract patients. Objectives: To determine satisfaction and factors related to patient satisfaction at Cu Chi Area General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City in 2022-2023. Material and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 400 patients came for outpatient examination and treatment at Cu Chi Regional General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City in 2022-2023. Results: 16% of patients are not satisfied with medical services. Some related factors found in the study were: age group (OR=0.368, (95% CI: 0.214-0.635, p<0.001), sex (OR=2.265 (95% CI: 1.185-4.331), p =0.012), economic (OR=0.243 (95% CI: 0.094-0.624, p=0.002), accommodation (OR=1.737 (95% CI: 1.006-2.998, p=0.046). Conclusions: The rate of dissatisfaction about medical examination and treatment services is still quite high. It is necessary to pay attention to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment effectively.
