RESEARCH ON PREPARING BREWER'S YEAST HAIR CREAM FOR RESTORING DAMAGED HAIR
Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: Today, treatments like dying, perming, or straightening hair as well as environmental issues cause hair to become badly damaged, dry, and split ends, so the concern about hair maintenance and repair is growing. It is known that metabolism in brewer's yeast produces components that are good for hair but hair cream with brewer's yeast extract is still not popular in the market, moreover, it is quite expensive. Objectives: To develop the formula of brewer's yeast hair cream to aid in repairing damaged hair and research the recovery effects of products. Materials and methods: Brewer's yeast hair cream is made using the direct emulsification method, and Watson's hair cream is used as the reference standard. Establish the baseline criteria based on the Vietnam Pharmacopoeia V for soft cream medications. Light microscopy was used to examine the impact on three groups of research participants who had varying degrees of hair damage. Results: Brewer's yeast hair cream with formula F10 was successfully investigated to satisfy the requirements of sensory quality, homogeneity, pH, and qualification. After three weeks of the survey, participants had seen hair repair, which was shown by a decline in the levels of hair damage. Conclusion: Brewer's yeast hair cream has the effect of restoring severely damaged hair (level 3) to mildly damaged hair (level 1).
