Background: The professional quality of life of healthcare workers has great significance, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic outbroke which put a massive burden on the health system. Objectives: To measure the professional quality of life and explore associated factors among healthcare workers. Material and method: A descriptive cross-sectional study and a retrospective study on 109 participants working at the No.1 Can Tho File hospital in 2021 were selected. Using the ProQOL scale measures the professional quality of life of healthcare workers, which includes three components: compassion satisfaction, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress. Results: Healthcare workers were at a moderate level of compassion satisfaction (64.2%), a low level of burnout (95.4%), and a moderate level of secondary traumatic stress (51.4%). Burnout was associated with age and with healthcare workers who were staff or students. Total time working at the hospital, age, ethnicity, and healthcare workers who were staff or students had a significant impact on secondary traumatic stress. The higher the compassion, the lower the burnout, and the higher the burnout, the higher the post-traumatic stress score. Conclusion: When helping to care for, treat, and assist COVID-19 patients, medical professionals must be given the proper amount of work time.
