Abstract

Background: Improving aspirin adherence in preeclampsia prophylaxis is critical to optimizing treatment outcomes. Objectives: 1/ Determine the adherence rate of pregnant women who come for pre-eclampsia prevention examination and treatment; 2/ Find out a number of factors related to the treatment adherence of pregnant women who come for pre-eclampsia prevention examination and treatment; 3/ Evaluating the results of the intervention, communication and counseling to change the treatment adherence behavior of pregnant women who come for preeclampsia preventive treatment and examination. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study and no control group on 33 pregnant women assigned to aspirin prophylaxis for preeclampsia at the Examination Department  of Can Tho Gynecology and Obstetrics  Hospital from May 2022 to August 2022. Data analysis using SPSS 20.0 software. Results: The rate of adherence to general prophylaxis for preeclampsia accounted for 57.6%. The overweight and obese group before pregnancy had a 15.3 times higher compliance rate than the non-obese group; The difference was statistically significant with p=0.002. After the intervention, the rate of knowledge about preeclampsia increased from 12.1% to 93.9% with p<0.001. After the intervention, the percentage of knowledge about preventive treatment increased significantly from 6.1% to 81.8% with p<0.001. Conclusions: Counseling to change treatment adherence knowledge of pregnant women taking aspirin for pre-eclampsia has significant effectiveness.
