Abstract
Background: Cruciate ligaments tear is common following knee injury. If these defects are not diagnosed and repaired, the knee will be degenerative earlier than usual. The diagnosis could be based on clinical examination. However, in early stage or because of patient’s pain, clinical examination is limited. Magnetic resonance is a safe and valuable method to evaluate knee injury. Objective: To determine the value of magnetic resonance in the diagnosis of anterior cruciate ligament and posterior cruciate ligament injury. Materials and methods: Prospective cross- sectional descriptive study on 108 patients with knee trauma who evaluated by magnetic resonance and confirmed the diagnosis by knee arthroscopic at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from 6/2020 to 6/2022. Results: Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value, accuracy of magnetic resonance in the diagnosis of anterior cruciate ligament and posterior injury were: 100%; 71.4%; 98.2%; 100%; 98.3% và 88.9%; 99.1%; 88.9%; 99.1%; 98.3%. Conclusion: Magnetic resonance imaging has high value in diagnostic cruciate ligament injuries.
