Abstract

Background: Rabies is a dangerous infectious disease, when it occurs, both humans and infected animals die. Learning about knowledge and attitudes about rabies prevention helps authorities come up with effective rabies prevention measures. Objective: 1) To describe the knowledge and attitudes of people aged 18 to 60 in Man Thai ward on rabies prevention; 2) To identify factors related to knowledge and attitudes on rabies prevention of the research subjects. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 368 people in Man Thai ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city in 2025. Results: People had a general awareness of rabies prevention of 71.2%. There was a statistically significant association between age, religion, and education with knowledge of rabies prevention in humans (p < 0.05). Human attitudes towards rabies prevention were 41.8%, with a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) between religion and knowledge of rabies prevention. Conclusion: Strengthen health education and communication on rabies prevention for the public through various forms, conduct community surveillance, effectively implement rabies prevention measures, encourage active community participation, and establish a close and synchronized inter-sectoral and multi-sectoral coordination mechanism.
