Abstract

Clavicle fractures are commonly treated using conservative methods, such as the figure-ofeight bandage. In recent years, internal fixation has become more frequent. However, some patients develop infections at the fracture site and require removal of the internal fixation device. Stabilizing the fracture after debridement can be challenging. We used the Hoffmann external fixation system designed for the upper limb to treat two such cases. The infections resolved, pain subsided, and there were no complications. These cases indicate that external fixation may be a viable option in the management of infected clavicle fractures.
