Abstract

Background: Scalp plaque psoriasis is considered a difficult-to-treat area in psoriasis. In the maintenance phase, adherence to treatment is essential to reduce disease progression. E-PSORA cream and Derma shampoo are combined to address this issue. Objectives: 1. To describe the clinical characteristics of scalp plaque psoriasis; 2. To evaluate the results of topical treatment on scalp plaque psoriasis by E-PSORA cream and Derma shampoo. Materials and methods: A case series study on 51 patients with scalp plaque psoriasis. Results: Pruritus is the most common symptom in scalp psoriasis. There is a correlation between pruritus symptoms and disease severity. Erythema accounts for 100% of the physical signs. The mean PSSI before and after 6 weeks of treatment was 12.43 and 3.65. Good to excellent results accounted for 92.16%. Conclusion: Pruritus is the most common functional symptom in scalp psoriasis. There is a correlation between pruritus symptoms and disease severity. The combination of E-PSORA cream and Derma shampoo is effective in reducing scalp psoriasis lesions, making it a suitable therapy for maintenance phase in mild to moderate patients.
