STRESS AND SOME RELATED FACTORS AMONG MEDICAL STUDENTS AT CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY IN 2021

Abstract
Background: In the world, stress in the educational environment has been recorded as serious, especially among students of universities and medical colleges. Objectives: Determining the rate, level of stress and some related factors to stress among medical students of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2021. Materials and method: Designing a cross-sectional study on 602 medical students at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2021. Assess stress using the PSS-10 scale. Results: The prevalence of stress among students was 78.2% (mild: 35.2%, moderate: 32.6%, severe: 10.5%). Factors to stress include academic year; sports training, reading/listening to music, reunion 30 minutes/day or more; feeling the house rules are difficult, financial difficulties, study again a year of students (p≤0.05). Conclusions: Stress is a common condition among medical students at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the percentage of students with moderate and heavy stress is quite high. Students need to allocate reasonable study time, actively participate in daily extracurricular activities to prevent stress.
