Abstract

  Background: Diabetes is a risk factor for increased cardiovascular disease by increasing atherosclerosis. Rheoencephalography is a good method to diagnosis vascular disease with early symtom is vessel tone increasing, but the research issue updated recently is still limited. Objective: To assesse  the atherosclerosis  in pateint with type 2 diabetes at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital by using rheoencephalography. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study with control group on 30 patients with type 2 diabetes (case group) and 30 health check-up subjects (control group). Results: Atherosclerosis through cerebral blood flow was recorded 28%, of whom 40% of patients with increased vascular tone in 1 of 3 leads and decreased blood flow intensity in >25%. The rate of abnormalities in REG result is 80%. Conclusion: In patients with type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis on cerebral blood flow was quite clear, higher than in the control group and this difference was statistically significant.
