COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS OF ONLINE REPORTS ON ELECTRONIC COMMUNICABLE DISEASE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM IN SOME MEDICAL FACILITIES IN VINH LONG PROVINCE IN 2022

Abstract
Background: The infectious disease surveillance management system (eCDS) has been implemented since 2016 but the completeness and timeliness of communicable disease reporting are still low. Objectives: Elevate the completeness and timeliness of online infectious disease reporting according to eCDS in Vinh Long province in 2022. Materials and methods: The cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted at 27/126 medical facilities including public and private systems in Vinh Long province from evaluating. Information collected from 545 case reports, 528 weekly reports, 120 monthly reports, and 36 outbreak reports were recorded on the eCDS system and evaluated through a checklist of criteria for timeliness and completeness. Results: Timeliness: 38.9% of cases reported on time; 83.7% was reported the week on time, 50.8% reported the month on time, and 2.6% reported the outbreak on time. Completeness: For the information field: case reports reached the rate of 76.7%; weekly reports at 100% rate; monthly reports at 100% rate; outbreak reports a rate of 91.7%; For the number of the report with sufficient information: case reports reach the rate of 0%; weekly reports at 100% rate; monthly reports at 100% rate; outbreak report a rate of 13.9%; Verification Factor (VF): case reports of 1.3% value; a weekly was valid 1; a monthly was valid 1; The outbreak report was value 1. Accuracy: For the information field: the case report reached the rate of 50.0%; weekly reports at 100% rate; monthly reports the rate of 75.0%; outbreak report 50.0% rate. Conclusion: The quality of infectious disease reporting by health facilities in Vinh Long province is still low.
