Abstract

Backgrounds: Bidding for generic drugs at medical institutions is intended to address the immediate drug need for local medical treatment and examinations. Research and analysis of drug bidding results in general, and generic pharmaceuticals in particular, are required to ensure adequate drug supply and compliance with drug bidding requirements at medical institutions in Hai Duong province in 2023. Objective: To determine the implementation rate of generic drug bidding results in 2023 at medical examination and treatment facilities in Hai Duong province. Materials and methods: List of generic medications proposed and implemented in 2023 based on public health unit bidding results and drug bidding results at medical institutions. Using retrospective descriptive methods. Results: The total list of winning bids in 2023 at medical facilities in Hai Duong province included 2,304 drugs, implemented 72.38%, but there were differences between medical facilities. The average implementation rate of original or equivalent brand name drugs was 83.77% of the planned winning bid price at public health facilities in the province. The list of drugs of foreign origin was lower than that of domestic drugs. Some pharmacological groups have a large number of winning bid items such as the group of drugs for treating parasites and anti-infective drugs (28.18%); hormones and endocrine drugs (20.03%); cardiovascular drugs (16.47%). Conclusion: The rate of winning bid generic drugs at medical facilities in Hai Duong province in 2023 is relatively high at over 80%, however, the implementation value is uneven in structure and proportion among medical facilities. The rate of winning bid generic drugs for each group is still low at public health facilities in the province, bidding packages, groups of effects and is only concentrated in certain groups.
