SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF PATIENTS WITH GENITAL PROLAPSE TREATED BY CROSSEN SURGERY AT VIETNAM - SWEDEN UONG BI HOSPITAL

Abstract
Background: Genital prolapse (SSD) is a fairly common disease in Vietnamese women, especially women who do heavy work, give birth many times, give birth unsafely, often occurring in the age group of 40-50 years old and above. This disease is not life-threatening but greatly affects daily life and work. Objective: To describe the characteristics of patients with genital prolapse treated by Crossen surgery. Material and methods: Cross-sectional description of 113 patients with grade III and grade IV genital prolapse treated by Crossen surgery at Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital from January 2018 to December 2022. Results: The average age of the study subjects was 66.4 ± 9.0 years. The proportion of study subjects with ≥ 3 births was 70.8%. The main reason for hospitalization was vaginal prolapse and urinary disorders (60.3%). The average duration of the disease was 6.2 ± 4.1 years. Grade III genital prolapse 56.6%. The proportion of patients with perineal tears was 69.9%, of which 60.2% had irreversible tears and 9.7% had reversible tears. Uterine atrophy (61.9%), cervical lesions (36.3%). Conclusion: The average age of the subjects was 66.4 ± 9.0 years. Patients with a history of giving birth 3 times or more accounted for 70.8%. The main reason for hospitalization was vaginal prolapse and urinary disorders (60.3%). Genital prolapse level III (56.6%). The rate of patients with perineal tears was 69.9%, of which 60.2% had irreversible tears and 9.7% had reversible tears.
