Main Article Content
Abstract
Backgrounds: Lateral intercostal artery perforator flaps are often applied to many defect positions, mainly in upper extremities, especially in the hands and fingers. This skin flap is an option when adjacent or local flaps are difficult to access or cover. The lateral intercostal skin flap has been used since 1994 by Gao J.H., Hyakusoku H., Inoue S. to cover tissue on the back of the hand in 5 patients and has brought good results in grip function such as proprioception hand angle. Objectives: To evaluate the results using the lateral intercostal artery perforator flap for covering defects of finger. Materials and method: A Case report. Using the lateral intercostal artery perforator flap for covering defects of finger. Results: The case was reported after 32 months from the date of transferring skin flap surgery. The defect was covered and the finger function was completely restored. Conclusions: Using lateral intercostal artery perforator to cover defect in fingers is an effective treatment.
