STUDY OF THE TREATMENT ADHERENCE SITUATION, RELATED FACTORS IN OUTPATIENTS WITH BRONCHIAL ASTHMA, CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE AT VINH LONG GENERAL HOSPITAL

Abstract
Background: The drug non-adherence in patients with bronchial asthma and COPD is still high, and is one of the major challenges in the medical industry today. Many of the reasons for noncompliance are quite complex and have not been elucidated so far leading to suboptimal management of the disease. Objectives: To determine the treatment adherence rate of outpatients with bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at Vinh Long General Hospital in 2023-2024 and learn some factors related to non-adherence of outpatients with bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at Vinh Long General Hospital in 2023-2024. Materials and methods: Research on 348 patients diagnosed by a doctor with bronchial asthma and COPD who was being treated at the Respiratory Outpatient Clinic at Vinh Long General Hospital in 2023. Results: The adherence rate of outpatients with bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at Vinh Long General Hospital accounted for 66.1%. Some factors related to non-adherence to treatment such as time treatment of illness, smoking status (p< 0.05). Conclusion: The patient's adherence rate was still low, accounting for 66.1%. Health workers need to actively communicate and advise patients promptly to patients undergoing treatment to improve the effectiveness of bronchial asthma and COPD treatment.
