CURRENT STATUS OF COVID-19 VACCINE VACCINATION AND SOME RELATED FACTORS OF PEOPLE IN THOI AN WARD, O MON DISTRICT, CAN THO CITY IN 2023

Abstract
Background: The respiratory disease caused by COVID-19 is a dangerous epidemic, causing severe impacts on health and the economy worldwide. In the context of the complicated COVID-19 pandemic, countries have prioritized devoting many resources to developing COVID-19 vaccines in the hope of having a quick and effective measure to control the epidemic. Objective: To determine the COVID-19 vaccination rate and some factors related to vaccination of people in Thoi An ward, O Mon district, Can Tho city in 2023. Materials and methods: Analytical descriptive cross-sectional study of 380 people over 18 years old currently living in Thoi An ward, O Mon district, Can Tho city be using a set of questions and collected data. Results: The rate of correct and complete vaccination of COVID-19 vaccine was 59.7%; accordingly: doses 1 and 2 reach 100%, dose 3 reaches 85.9%, dose 4 reaches 47.9% and dose 5 was 1.3%, Factors related to receiving the correct and complete dose of COVID-19 vaccine with age group (p = 0.025), education level (p = 0.001), occupation (p = 0.034), reaction side effects from the previous injection (p = 0.043), side effects of family members (p = 0.002), mandatory vaccination regulations at home and work (p = 0.034) and the subject's attitude (p = 0.034) p=0.002). Conclusions: It is necessary to continue to carry out communication activities about the effects of vaccines and the benefits of booster vaccinations, and review and provide COVID-19 vaccination schedules to people in the area.
