RESULT OF TREATMENT CAESAREAN SCAR PREGNANCY BY FOLEY BALLOON TAMPONADE AND SUCTION CURETTAGE UNDER ULTRASOUND GUIDE

Abstract
Background: Cesarean scar pregnancy rate has been increasing in recent years. Foley balloon tamponade and suction curettage under ultrasound guide is considered as a safe and effective method for treating cesarean scar pregnancy. Objectives: To evaluate the success rate of Foley balloon tamponade and suction curettage under ultrasound guide in treatment of Cesarean scar pregnancy at Can Tho gynecology obstetrics hospital and some factors related to the possibility of success. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 75 cases of Cesarean scar pregnancies under 12 weeks of gestational age treated at Can Tho Gynecology Obstetrics Hospital. Results: The minority of patients had cesarean section more than 2 times and the time from the last Csection was more than 2 years. The success rate of Foley balloon tamponade and suction curettage under ultrasound guide was 96%. β-hCG concentration at admission and Grade classification on ultrasound were related to treatment results. Conclusion: Foley balloon tamponade and suction curettage under ultrasound guide is a safe and effective way in the treatment of Cesarean scar pregnancy.
