Abstract

Background: Evidence-based practice (EBP) involves making clinical decisions based on the best available scientific evidence, clinical experience, and patient values. EBP is considered the gold standard for providing safe, high-quality nursing care and has become a global concern. In the field of nursing, the care services and techniques provided directly relate to the health and lives of individuals, emphasizing the need for nursing knowledge and practice to be grounded in rigorous science to ensure the best quality of care for patients. Objectives: To assess the level of knowledge, attitudes, and related factors among nurses regarding evidence-based practice. Materials and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted involving 124 nurses working at the

Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. Results: The average knowledge score of nurses regarding EBP was 3.58 ± 0.48, and the attitude score was 3.79 ± 0.48. There was a correlation between professional qualifications and participation in evidence-based practice courses among nurses with knowledge of EBP. Furthermore, educational level, job position, participation in scientific research courses, and evidence-based practice workshops are correlated with nurses' attitudes toward EBP. Conclusions: Opportunities should be created for nurses to enhance their professional qualifications and participate in evidence-based practice and scientific research courses. This will improve knowledge and promote the application of EBP in clinical practice, thereby enhancing the quality of care services.
