Abstract

Background: Lumbar disc herniation is a very common disease in the world as well as in


Vietnam. The disease causes chronic or acute pain in the spine, reduces the adaptability of the spine, thereby leading to a decrease in the ability to work and live, even leaving severe disability consequences. Traditional medicine has fewer side effects and is increasingly used to treat Lumbar disc herniation. Objectives: To Evaluate of the results of treatment with Shen Tong Zhu Yu Tang combined with galvanopuncture, lumbar spine traction and moxibustion in pain relief from herniated disc lumbar spine at Can Tho Traditional Medicine Hospital. Materials and methods: Randomized controlled clinical trials for treating herniated disc lumbar spine at CanTho Traditional Medicine Hospital for 2023 and 2024. Results: A total of 35 patients with herniated discs in the lumbar spine involved in research group, medications combined with galvanopuncture, lumbar spine traction and moxibustion showed better effect for pain relief (p<0.05). There were no serious adverse effects related to galvanopuncture, lumbar spine traction and medications treatment in these included trials. Conclusions: Shen Tong Zhu Yu Tang combined with galvanopuncture, lumbar spine traction and moxibustion appears to be effective in treatment of Lumbar disc herniation.
