PRACTICE AND FACTORS RELATED TO HPV VACCINATION AMONG LONG MY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN LONG MY TOWN, HAU GIANG PROVINCE IN 2023

Abstract
Background: Human papillomavirus causes sexually transmitted diseases, causing benign or malignant diseases in both men and women. There are many ways to prevent Human papillomavirus infection, among which vaccination is effective, of which vaccination is effective. Objectives: To determine the vaccination rate to prevent Human papillomavirus infection and some factors related to vaccination practices among Long My high school students in Long My town, Hau Giang province in 2023. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 337 students using cluster sampling method. Results: The vaccination rate to prevent Human papillomavirus infection among Long My High School students was 5.3%. Analysis showed that subjects whose fathers worked in the occupation "Farming, animal husbandry, and trading" had higher levels of incorrect general practices than the group "Officials and civil servants"; The father's education level was "Level 1 and 2" and the general practice was not correct, higher than "Level 3 or higher" (p<0.05). Students who had ever heard or searched for information about the vaccine also had higher general practice than those who had never heard of it (p<0.05). Conclusion: The vaccination rate to prevent Human papillomavirus infection among Long My High School students was very low. The factors of gender, education level, occupation of the student's father, and ever hearing and searching for information about vaccines were positively related to correct practice.
