Abstract

Background: The position of the posterior cruciate ligament tibial tunnel is one of the important factors contributing to the success of arthroscopic simultaneous bicruciate ligament reconstruction. Evaluating the position of the PCL tibial tunnel on knee X-ray helps reconstruct the ligament similar to the original ligament. Objectives: To evaluate the location of the PCL tibial tunnel on knee X-ray and the correlation knee function and the location tibial tunnel. Materials and methods: Prospective cross-sectional descriptive research on 34 patients who underwent arthroscopic reconstruction for combined ACL/PCL rupture and knee X-ray after surgery between 2021 and 2023. Results: The average distance ratio from the center of the tibial tunnel to the medial edge of the tibial plateau is 48.44±1.97%. The average distance from the center of the tibial tunnel to the medial tibial plateau joint surface is 11.65±2.98mm. Good and very good results for the precision tunnel group is 73.53% according to Lysholm and 58.82% categories A and B according to IKDC (International Knee Documentation Committee). Conclusion: The precisive position of the PCL tibial tunnel is a decisive factor for the success of surgery.
