Abstract

Background: Hair plays an important role in building confidence, hair situation becoming worse will affect life quality. Besides, using Traditional medicine in hair care is becoming more and more interesting. Objectives: To confirm the rate and level of some common hair problems and examine the demand for applying Traditional medicine in hair care of final year regular students of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2023. Materials and methods: Cross sectional descriptions and analyze in 194 final year students of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2023. Results: The number of students facing to hair problems accounts a quite high rate (70.6%), hair loss is the most popular problem (47.4%). Almost hair problems are in mild level. The rate of students that have the demand for applying Traditional medicine in hair care is quite high (73%), in which, washing hair by natural drugs prevails more (98%). Hair loss is the problem that students want to overcome the most with Traditional medicine (79%). Almost students can accept the period from 1 to under 6 months (64%) to apply Traditional medicine and the cost from 50.000 VND to under 200.000 VND (48%) per application that in hair care. Conclusion: The number of students facing to hair problems and having the demand for hair care by Traditional medicine accounts quite high rate.
