Abstract

Background: Learning about the present state of treatment types and satisfaction levels of dental patients contributes to enhancing the quality of education and training for Odonto Stomatology students. Objectives: 1) To determine types of treatment in the second Odonto stomatology treatment unit of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. 2) To assess patients' satisfaction levels with each type of treatment. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study of 376 patients in the second Odonto Stomatology treatment unit in Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from October 2022 to December 2022. Gender, year of birth, occupation, address, types of treatment, satisfaction levels and reasons for dissatisfaction are collected through interviews using off-the-shelf surveys after treatment. Results: Of the 376 patients, scaling dental plaque taked up 47.6%, filling rated 36.2%, tooth extraction was 1.6 %, endodontic treatment taked up 7.7%, fixed prosthodontics rated 2.7%, removable prosthodontics was 2.7%, gingivitis treatment along with gingivectomy rated 1% and teeth whitening taked up 0.5%. 94.9% of the patients were satisfied with the treatment, including 82.4% of highly satisfied evaluation and 12.5% of satisfied counterparts. Conclusions: In the second Odonto Stomatology treatment unit of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, the ratio of different types of treatment varies considerably and most of the patient reviews were highly satisfied.
