Abstract

Background: The situation of drug use at medical facilities reflects some inadequacies related to drug use, helping managers have the solution to procurement and prescription is more and more affordable. Objective: 1. Analyze the list of drugs used in 2020 by ABC/VEN method; 2. Evaluate the effectiveness of drug use at Can Tho Children's Hospital in 2021. Materials and methods: List of drugs and report on drug used at Can Tho Children's Hospital in the period of 2020-2021. Research method: Cross-sectional description. Results: The ABC/VEN matrix in 2020 compared to 2021: The value of group A increased from 74.77% to 74.95%, group B decreased from 15.37% to 14 .90%, drug N decreased from 1.13% to 0.80% and group III decreased from 0.78% to 0.40%. AN group accounted for (0%). Value in 2020 compared to 2021: Domestic drugs decreased from 27.59% to 22.68%, foreign drugs increased 72.41% to 77.32%, not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Conclusions: In 2020 compared to 2021 by ABC/VEN method, it shows that the drug budget has not been well managed to reduce treatment costs. In 2021, the structure use at the hospital is relatively reasonable. However, the hospital needs to adjust imported and accordingly. Not using (group AN) non-essential drugs accounts for a high value, showing that the hospital has used rationally and should promoted.
