RESEARCH ON KNOWLEDGE AND FACTORS RELATED TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP OF STUDENTS AT CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY IN 2022-2023

Abstract
Background: Although Vietnam's economy has overcome many difficulties and challenges, its economic growth has not been improved, so economic development in general and entrepreneurship in particular is a matter of concern to the Government and society. Objectives: To determine the rate of knowledge and factors related to entrepreneurship of students at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Materials and methods: Using cross-sectional descriptive design, interview 1202 students studying majors at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy with a set of interview questions to assess knowledge and factors related to student’s entrepreneurship intention based on the characteristics of the research object. Results: The characteristics of gender, age, and academic results of students all have p < 0.05, so these characteristics all affect general knowledge, female students (623.11), age group from 18 age to 23 years old (613.18) and excellent academic results (711.91) account for the highest scores among the characteristic groups. The percentage of students with good knowledge scores is 81%The majority of students between the ages of 18 and 23 (62.7%) are more interested and intend to start a business than other ages. Up to (94.9%) students are aware that startup ideas must comply with the law. Students with good or better academic results have a high rate of intention to start a business (67.9%). There is a positive and very weak correlation between knowledge score and entrepreneurial intention of students participating in the survey (R= 0.108, p<0.001). Conclusions: Most of people have a higher knowledge score, the higher the intention to start a business will be.
