RESULTS OF LAPAROSCOPIC SACROCOLPOPEXY FOR PELVIC ORGAN PROLAPSE AT CAN THO OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY HOSPITAL

Abstract

Background: Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy is an increasingly popular for pelvic organ prolapse because it can improve the degree of prolapse and quality of life of women. Objective: 1) To describe the characteristics of patients with pelvic organ prolapse; 2) To evaluate outcome and quality of life of women with pelvic organ prolapse after laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy at Can Tho Obstetrics and Gynecology hospital. Materials and methods: A prospective cross-sectional descriptive study on 33 cases of pelvic organ prolapse who underwent laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy at Can Tho Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital from March 2021 to March 2022. Results: The mean age was 60.8 years, the average surgery time was 128 minutes, the average blood loss was 40ml. Bleeding complications accounted for 3%, mesh exposure 3% and sacral pain 6.1%. The success rate of surgery was 93.9%. Ba, C and Bp point changed from 2.2, 2.3 and 1.3 to -2.9, -4.5 and -3.0 post-operatively. PFDI-20 score improved from 122 to 68 and PFIQ-7 score from 134 to 72 post-operatively. Conclusion: Laparosopic sacrocolpopexy is efficacy for pelvic organ prolapse, can improve the degree of prolapse and the quality of life of women.
