Abstract
Background: In Viet Nam, there are very few studies on treatment outcomes, factors affecting the severity of obstetric and gynecological diseases as well as the possibility of mother-to-child transmission of Covid-19 in pregnant women. pregnant. Objectives: 1). To evaluate the results of the treatment of obstetrics and gynecological diseases in the treatment of Covid-19; 2). To analyse of some related factors to the severe progression of Covid-19 in obstetrics and gynecology. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 507 patients (pregnant women and gynecological patients) diagnosed with Covid-19 when they tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus at Can Tho Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital from January 2021 to February 2022. Data was analyzed by SPSS 20.0 software. Results: The rate of recovery and discharge accounted for 81.7%; 13.2% relief, hospital discharge; 1.6% reduction and transfer to the lower hospital; 3.6% severe transfer to hospital for treatment at higher level. The study found a relationship between the severe progression of Covid-19 in obstetrics and gynecology with some of the following factors: Fast breathing rate > 20 breaths/minute, SpO2 low from less than 95%, patients with clinical symptoms ready to be tired and lethargic on admission. Conclusions: Strengthen early treatment of pregnant women and early gynecological diseases for better treatment results; in which, attention should be paid to patients with respiratory rate, SpO2 and clinical symptoms of fatigue and lethargy to predict the risk of severe disease progression
