Abstract

Background: Dengue hemorrhagic fever is an acute infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. Vietnam is located in the high endemic area of dengue fever and is currently one of the 5 countries with the highest dengue burden in the Asia-Pacific region. Objectives: Determining the ratio of knowledge, attitudes and practices on prevention and control of dengue fever and dengue fever and evaluating the results of communication interventions to improve knowledge, attitudes and practices and some risk factor in Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province in 2022-2023. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study and intervention on 600 people in Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province in 2022-2023. Results: The mean age of the study subjects was 51.86±11.89, 53.5% of the study subjects were male. General correct knowledge is 77.7%. The rate of correct attitude is 97.3%, The rate of correct practice was 44.5%. Some factors related to knowledge were education, occupation (0<0.05). Some factors related to attitude are economic, knowledge (0<0.05). The study found a relationship between knowledge, attitude and practice about dengue prevention and control (p<0.05). Conclusions: The rate of people's practice about prevention and control of dengue hemorrhagic fever is still very low. It is necessary to take measures to further promote communication measures to improve people's knowledge about Dengue hemorrhagic fever prevention and control.
