KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, PRACTICE ABOUT COVID-19 CONTROL PREVENTION OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN NINH KIEU DISTRICT CAN THO CITY IN 2021

Abstract
Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) causes serious respiratory illnesses and has become a pandemic. Surveying the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of high school students about Covid-19 prevention is necessary to make an important contribution to the prevention and control of the disease in a timely and effective manner. Objectives: Determine the percentage of knowledge, attitude, and practice of high school students about COVID-19 control prevention at high schools in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho City; Find out some factors related to high school students practice on COVID-19 prevention at high schools in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho City. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out on 645 students in 4 high schools who are currently studying and living in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho City. Data collection by face-to-face interviews with prepared questionnaires. Results: The study recorded a composite score of students' knowledge, attitudes, and practices on COVID-19 prevention and showed that: 83.4% of students have the correct knowledge, 77.1% of students have the correct attitude, and 72.6% of students have the right practice rate. There was no difference in COVID-19 prevention practices between the 2 groups of men and women (p>0.05). The factors affecting practice are knowledge (p<0.001) and attitude (p<0.001). There is no difference between practice and education level (p>0.05). Conclusion: This study shows that the percentage of students with the correct knowledge, attitudes, and practices about COVID-19 prevention is relatively high.
