RESULTS OF SURGICAL TREATMENT FOR GALEAZZI FRACTURE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: Galeazzi fracture is a combination of radial shaft fracture and distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) dislocation. Many cases are diagnosis lately and inadequate access to treatment results in undesirable rehabilitation results. Objective: to describe lesions of DRUJ dislocation, to evaluate the results of surgical treatment for Galeazzi fracture. Materials and methods: a cross-sectional study included 60 patients that were treated surgically for Galeazzi fracture from 4/2018 to 12/2019. Results: There were 60 patients (36 men, 24 women, 40.6 average age) were treated with plate osteosynthesis, 76.7% of fractures occurred in the distal third of the radial shaft (type I), 23.3% of fractures were in the remains third (type II). After internal fixation, the DRUJ instability of type I is more common than type II. The treatments of the DRUJ have 63.4% reduced and protective splint; 28.3% K-wire fixation ulna to radius; 8.3% open reduction internal fixation of the ulnar styloid. The results of treatment had evaluated in Green and O’Brien score, with excellent was 86.7%, good was 11,7%, the fair was 1.6%. This study had 1 wound infection. Conclusion: The DRUJ instability is common in type I, early diagnosis and treatment have a good result to become life.
