Abstract

Background: Stroke is a common disease and has severe consequences, therefore identifying predictable signs is necessary. Diagonal earlobe crease (ELC) is supposed to be associated with coronary disease, peripheral vascular disease, and stroke. Objectives: finding the prevalence rate and types of ELC in stroke patiens. Materials and Method: Cross sectional study on 400 patients who were hospitalized with ischemic and hemorrhage stroke were examined for the presence of ELC, collected general feature and obsevered earlobe on both sides. Results: ELC was present in 320 patiens (80%). In 328 patients with ischemic stroke, there were 267 patients (81.4%) showing ELC. In 72 patients with hemorrhage stroke, 53 patients (73.6%) have ELC. We observed and divided the presence of ELC into 4 types. Conclusion: ELC is present in stroke patients is 80% with 4 types.
