POST-COVID-19 CONDITIONS: AN ONLINE SURVEY IN USING A QUESTIONNAIRE ON 250 PARTICIPANTS RECOVERED FROM COVID-19 IN THUA THIEN HUE AND CENTRAL VIETNAM

Abstract

Background: Many researches show that about 20%-76% of patients may experience symptoms of post-COVID-19. Objective: To preliminary assess the post-COVID-19 condition and some related factors on patients. Materials and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study on people who had recovered from COVID-19 for at least 2 weeks up to the time of the online survey in using a questionnaire. Data were processed on SPSS software, the rates are described in percentages. Results: 53 (21.2%) patients that were infected with SARS-CoV-2 had persistent symptoms. In which, general weakness situation accounted for the highest rate (94.3%), followed by anorexia, poor eating (90.6%), 86.3% of patients had persistent cough, insomnia, difficulty sleeping, patients with headache accounted for 69.5%, 56.8% of patients were dyspnea, while other symptoms accounted for a lower rate. There was a statistically significant relationship between the time of infection, duration of disease, place of care, use of sauna with herbal medicine, compliance with hand hygiene, use of masks, distance, not gathering, medical declaration and gargling with salt water daily. The use of antipyretic, antibiotic, antiviral and other drugs was not related to postCOVID-19 condition in the survey group.
