Awareness, attitude and practice of school culture of medical students at Can Tho University Of Medicine and Pharmacy

Abstract

Background: In the current context of educational innovation and international integration, school culture plays an important role in performing educational functions and enhancing the school's reputation. Therefore, it is necessary to find out the awareness, attitude and practice of modern culture of students. Objectives: To assess the awareness, attitude and practice of school culture of General Medicine students at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the academic year 2020-2021. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 600 medical students from course 41 to course 46 at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the academic year 2020-2021. Data were collected by survey form and statistically processed by SPSS 22.0 software. Results: Students' awareness of school culture: 91.5% of students think that school culture was very important; 93.17% of students had a good perception of the content of school culture. Students' attitudes about implementing school culture: 85.0% of students were interested and very interested in implementing school culture. Practicing school culture: 80.0% of students had never violated school culture, 18.7% of students rarely violated school culture, and 1.3% of students violated school culture in school often and very often. Conclusions: More than 80.0% of students at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in need of education have very good awareness, attitudes and practices about school culture. This result needs to be further maintained and promoted to create a unique beauty for medical students in particular and students of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in general.
