EVALUATION OF THE RESULTS OF TREATMENT ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION BY TADALAFIL AT CAN THO CENTRAL GENERAL HOSPITAL AND CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY HOSPITAL

Abstract
Background: Erectile dysfunction is one of the most common sexual dysfunctions in men. Erectile dysfunction may affect psychosocial health and have a significant impact on the quality of life of patients and their partners. Tadalafil is the first line of treatment for Erectile dysfunction because it is highly efficacious, well tolerated, and has favorable safety profiles. The recommended on-demand starting dose is 10 mg and should be adapted according to the patient’s response. However, the dose of the drug in each patient group has not been studied. Objectives: evaluating the results of treatment of erectile dysfunction by Tadalafil at Can Tho Central General Hospital and Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. Materials and methods: A prospective cross-sectional study was conducted on 62 patients with erectile dysfunction diagnosed and treated with Tadalafil 10 mg on demand if there is no improvement after 3 times of taking the drug we increase the dose to 20mg. Results: 62 men patients were conducted in the study, in which the average age was 44.67 ± 12.16 years old. The level of improvement in erectile function at the 20mg dose was better than the 10mg dose (p=0.07) and in the group of patients with severe erectile dysfunction, the 20mg dose was better than the 10mg dose (p=0.001). Good treatment results accounted for 69.4%; 16.1% on average; no improvement accounted for 14.5%. Conclusion: Tadalafil is an effective treatment for most groups of patients with mild to severe Erectile dysfunction. Group of mild erectile dysfunction, the dose of Tadalafil 10mg is optimal, group of moderate and severe erectile dysfunction, the dose of Tadalafil 20mg is optimal.
