THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF COLORECTAL CANCER INPATIENTS AT XUYEN A GENERAL HOSPITALS IN 2022-2023

Abstract

Background: The incidence of colorectal cancer has been increasing significantly globally in recent years. In 2020, Vietnam ranked 91/185 and 50/185 in terms of cancer incidence rate and cancer-related death rate. Objective: Evaluating the quality of life of colorectal cancer patients while receiving treatment at Xuyen A General Hospitals in 2022-2023. Materials and methodes: A crosssectional descriptive study was conducted on 197 colorectal cancer patients who underwent inpatient treatment at Xuyen A General Hospitals from August 2022 to February 2023. The data was analyzed on Microsoft Excel 2016, SPSS 20. Results: The survey included 197 patients, of whom 56.8% were male, 61.9% were between the ages of 33 and 66, and 77.2% were Kinh ethnic and the illness phases were fairly uniformly distributed due to the small variance. According to EQ-5D-5L, women aged no more than 32, and at stage 0 of the disease had the highest quality of life coefficient. While following EORTC QLQ-C30 and EORTC QLQ-CR29, women between the ages of 33 and 66 years old and at stage 0 of the disease had the highest quality of life coefficient. Conclusion: There is a difference in the quality of life according to demographic characteristics of inpatient colorectal cancer.
